Appointment types
Initial appointment
In our initial appointment, we get to know you and your medical history. We find out a bit about your health aims and current habits. We begin to introduce you to ideas and concepts that best fit your health goals and generate some data in the form of medical observations and testing that will help map your needs and progress over time.
Planning appointment
In this second appointment, we pick and initiate a strategy for change. We give detailed counselling for any treatment initiated and a plan for follow-up and testing thereafter. We will also introduce you to any other health professionals (such as dieticians, exercise physiologists, psychologists or surgeons) who may be useful team members. This is a long appointment.
Follow up
Once you have started on your health change journey follow-up is an important strategy to help maintain the positive change. The interval varies depending on the goals and treatment but is usually set at 2-4 weeks until the desired goals are reached. These are short appointments.
Maintenance
In this stage, we have usually reached a stable place in treatment and are at goal or are re-evaluating strategies and goals. The frequency of the appointments is variable but usually every 3 months. These are usually short appointments but can be longer depending on the issues to discuss.
Pricing
Initial appointment $377
This lasts approximately 40 minutes and is usually undertaken as part of your first appointment by your GP. This gives you and your GP the time and space needed to help set the stage for change.
Current rebates reduce the gap for this appointment to around $259
Planning/long appointment $252
This lasts approximately 25 minutes and is used to educate and action the plan for change.
Current rebates reduce the gap for this appointment to around $172.
Follow up/standard appt $127
Usually lasting around 15 minutes this appointment has a focused intent to check monitor and adapt strategy in response to treatment.
Current rebates reduce the gap for this appointment to around $86.
From time to time other appointment types may be offered or different charges applied depending on the service. This will be clearly communicated at the time of service or before.
